OWN CLOTHES DAY - FRI 16th JANThis Friday, 16th January 2026 we will be holding a non-uniform day for all year groups. Children can come to school in their own clothes for a minimum £1 donation. You may have seen on the local news channels and various social media sites that our local animal charity, Brockswood, suffered terribly after the recent weather last week. Brockswood first opened their gates 20 years ago to give rescued animals a second chance at life. From humble beginnings to the thriving sanctuary you see today, every step of their journey has been powered by kindness from incredible supporters and team members toward the countless animals who’ve called and continue to call Brockswood home. Many schools and establishments local to the area, including Wednesbury Oak Academy, are helping to fundraise for Brockswood to rebuild the enclosures and areas that have suffered in order to make them safe again for the animals who are rescued. This will enable the sanctuary to bring them back home, as many have had to be temporarily relocated for their safety. We appreciate that this is short notice, but given the severity and urgency of the situation, we really do want to help Brockswood Animal Sanctuary. We are asking for a minimum donation of £1 for children to wear their own clothes on Friday 16th, which can be donated through School Gateway, but please, if you feel you can donate more to this cause, we are sure that Brockswood would be extremely grateful.
