On Monday our U15 boys took part in The Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup (A national competition aimed at raising participation in cricket) which has been endorsed by England international cricketers Heather Knight and Ben Stokes. Our students fell short on the day with the results. However, something more important was seen in our game. All students continued to play the game despite it being complete. Giving everyone playing the opportunity to bat and bowl displaying the true meaning of the Barclays Knight-Stokes competition which is to inspire young people to take up cricket and to increase opportunities to play the game with friends at school. This had a huge impact of our students with 5 of them never playing cricket before now wanting to play another game and wanting to join a local team.A huge thank you to Cheadle Cricket club for hosting the game and thank you to Blythe HighSchool for your sportsmanship and good luck in the next round. ...
