πA massive well done to Archie & Jake! They've been doing some work this half term with Miss Blackhurst, looking at anger as an emotion and what drives their anger. They've identified instances where they've become angry, how their body felt and what they might've acted like or said to others when they're angry. π‘ They've also looked at the role of their brain and the different sections and what they do. The boys are now able to identify what the cerebral cortex, midbrain and brain stem is, what it does and how it communicates when they're in 'fight, flight, freeze'. Without being asked, the boys identified what response their brain uses when they're angry and what they can do to regulate. π§ At the end of each of their interventions, the boys shared a game of their choice. Sometimes they may have struggled with losing a game and reacted poorly, but they have shown great maturity when losing - congratulating the other and praising them for their win. This has also been shown in other sports and games outside of their interventions too! π Miss Blackhurst is so proud of the progress they have both made, as well as their class staff who have also seen a big change in their behaviours and reactions! Well done, boys!!! π #springbrook#academy#lower... See MoreSee Less

π³ Class 4 β Final Forest School of the Year! πFor their last Forest School session, Class 4 set Mrs Pulman a brilliant challenge: cooking a full English breakfast for everyone over the campfire in the summer heat. π₯π³ She took it on with enthusiasm, and the children were delighted with their outdoor feast. After breakfast, the class spent a wonderfully relaxed day in the woods. Some children chilled in forest hammocks, swaying in the shade, while others dashed between the trees playing hide and seek. They used special sun print paper to create beautiful leaf prints and explored the forest floor searching for mini beasts. πA perfect mix of adventure, creativity and calm to end the Forest School year. πΏβ¨#springbrook#academy#lower...
