Class of 2026! 😊 The year 6s had an eventful week last week, they enjoyed a very messy leavers trip on Thursday followed by pizza, ice cream and a very refreshing water fight on their last day! 🤩 In the morning, the year 6s had their shirts signed by the whole school. They will certainly be missed by us all!😢 Good luck to all the SBL leavers on their journey to Upper School. You'll all be amazing! We hope everybody has a brilliant half term, and for the rest of our pupils, we will see you in September!! ❤️ #springbrook#academy#lower... See MoreSee Less
One of the highlights of this week has been the results of a MAT wide writing competition;“500 words - This is Me!”Our amazing Spring Brook Lower pupils won…not one…..not two….not three….….but FOUR prizes in this competition, and the feedback from the judges was fabulous. All of the winners are going to become published authors when their entries are released in an e-book.They have received certificates and gift vouchers in recognition of their hard work. Well done to all of our children, as everybody took part. The categories we won prizes in were:KS1 - WINNERS!!1st place went to Miss Pratt’s Class 7 whose poem captured our imaginations with its creativity, originality and powerful use of imagery. Their accompanying performance of the poem created a memorable celebration of individuality.KS2 - 2nd place!!2nd place went to Rory whose entry stood out for its honesty, courage and heartfelt reflection. Through sharing both the challenges he has faced and the things that bring him happiness, he gave readers a genuine insight into his life.KS2 - joint 3rd place!! Miss Dinnery’s Class 5 shared 3rd place with a poem that celebrated the power of friendship, teamwork and being proud of who you are. The honesty and positivity within the piece made it wonderful celebration of identity and belonging.KS2 - highly commended!!Rocco’s entry impressed us with its creativity, imagination and positivity. His powerful comparisons and thoughtful reflections gave us a wonderful insight into who he is.A very big well done to you all - you should be very proud 😊 👏👏👏👏👏 ... See MoreSee Less
🌟 A Huge Well Done to George! 🌟We are incredibly proud of George in 7MH, who recently entered the 'This Is Me' Writing Competition.✍️ George's powerful words made a real impact on everyone here at the SBU, and his dedication, creativity and courage in sharing his work have truly impressed us all.😊 Miss Harrop and the entire team couldn't be prouder of his achievement. Well done, George – you are a fantastic example of what can be achieved through hard work and self-expression. ❤️ #springbrook#academy#upper... See MoreSee Less
🙂A massive well done to Archie & Jake! They've been doing some work this half term with Miss Blackhurst, looking at anger as an emotion and what drives their anger. They've identified instances where they've become angry, how their body felt and what they might've acted like or said to others when they're angry. 😡 They've also looked at the role of their brain and the different sections and what they do. The boys are now able to identify what the cerebral cortex, midbrain and brain stem is, what it does and how it communicates when they're in 'fight, flight, freeze'. Without being asked, the boys identified what response their brain uses when they're angry and what they can do to regulate. 🧠 At the end of each of their interventions, the boys shared a game of their choice. Sometimes they may have struggled with losing a game and reacted poorly, but they have shown great maturity when losing - congratulating the other and praising them for their win. This has also been shown in other sports and games outside of their interventions too! 😃 Miss Blackhurst is so proud of the progress they have both made, as well as their class staff who have also seen a big change in their behaviours and reactions! Well done, boys!!! 👏 #springbrook#academy#lower... See MoreSee Less
🙂Class 3 enjoyed a trip to the local park today to try some frisbee golf! We then made it back in time to have some ice cream and game before home time. 🍦 #springbrook#academy#lower... See MoreSee Less
