From shy steps into the venue to confidently taking his turn with a big smile on his face – the change has been truly inspiring! Jacob’s mum had this to say…“When Jacob first attended the bowling session, he really struggled with the new surroundings. He wore his ear defenders and didn’t understand what was happening. The second time he was that overwhelmed that he went into crisis - it was extremely difficult. Only because of the calm nature, non judgemental and genuinely caring approach from the staff everything has changed. He now absolutely ADORES his bowling session, every Thursday morning the first thing he asks is if we’re going. He interacts with staff and service users, and bursting with excitement every week. The change in him is fantastic. His social interaction, communication, confidence and emotional regulation have all improved since attending, and it’s all down to the staff who week in week out are amazing.” This transformation wouldn’t have been possible without the empathetic and understanding support from our amazing staff, who take the time to build trust, create a safe space, and cheer on every little victory.Phenomenal work by everyone involved 💙#EverybodyCan #activetameside #SEND#community #bowling #inclusion #tamesidewellnesscentre ...
