🏐 Year 6 Volleyball 🏐

Year 6 have been learning all about the different shots in volleyball, including the set and the dig, and have started practising rallying with one another. Year 6 have been learning all about the different shots in volleyball, including the set and the dig, and have started practising rallying with one another. They’ve shown great teamwork and determination so far in their PE lessons!

Year 5 have made an exciting start to their new writing unit, exploring the fascinating world of Greek myths. The children have been learning about the features of myths and the powerful characters found within these ancient stories.They have thoroughly enjoyed creating their own heroes and monsters, using fantastic expanded noun phrases, ambitious verbs, and carefully chosen adverbs to bring their characters to life. They have thoroughly enjoyed creating their own heroes and monsters, using fantastic expanded noun phrases, ambitious verbs, and carefully chosen adverbs to bring their characters to life. The classroom has been full of creativity and imagination!

Year 5 have also been exploring how dialogue can be used to move the action along, helping to build tension and excitement within their stories.

Year 4 have been tackling the formal method of division, and they’ve shown incredible focus and determination. We’ve been using expert mathematical vocabulary to explain our thinking clearly, and the children have been working hard on the presentation of their calculations to keep their work accurate and easy to follow.We’ve also been so impressed with their super resilience as they’ve worked on mastering 3‑digit by 1‑digit division. We arrived at school this morning to a very unexpected scene… our Year 3 classrooms and hall were in an absolute state! Chairs and tables toppled, pencils scattered and yoga mats chucked everywhere.Even more surprising… the BFG has gone missing! Police (and a few very puzzled teachers) are investigating, but they need the help of our brilliant Year 3 children.The children will become official BFG Detectives and create missing posters to help track him down. They will be using facts they have gathered from reading the BFG to help track him down! Even more surprising… the BFG has gone missing!  Police (and a few very puzzled teachers) are investigating, but they need the help of our brilliant Year 3 children.

The children will become official BFG Detectives and create missing posters to help track him down. They will be using facts they have gathered from reading the BFG to help track him down! 

Get ready for some exciting writing and giant‑sized creativity! 🌟
