New Bridge – Spring Brook Lower and Upper – Facebook
💷For maths this term we are learning about money.👌🏻 Today class 6, went to ASDA to get the ingredients for our food technology lesson. We wrote our list, worked out the cost and how much change we would get before going. We then did our shopping and made some delicious mac and cheese!🫕 #springbrook#academy#lower... See MoreSee Less
😋 This week in 8ZW we cooked tuna pasta bake, the pupils chopped and made a spectacular bake.😊 They followed instructions and used knives appropriately.👌🏻 Well done, 8Z!👏 #springbrook#academy#Upper... See MoreSee Less
😊Today at forest school class 5 went to Brown Hill in Uppermill. On our way we stopped by the canal and the children really enjoyed watching a narrow boat being lowered into the lock and under the bridge over to the other side of the canal. The children were also able to identify the spring flowers appearing (snowdrops, daffodils, and crocuses). 🌺 We stopped by the pond and saw some little frogs and lots of frog spawn. The children enjoyed splashing their wellies in the river and hunting for Victorian pottery that was very old. 👀 #springbrook#academy#lower... See MoreSee Less
✍️✉️🕵️This week in English, 7KH became brilliant persuaders! Their challenge was to convince Miss Harrop to treat the class to new items, more time in exciting spaces around school such as the gym, and—even bolder—a class pet lizard!✍️✉️🕵️Using powerful persuasive techniques, the children created sentences and pitches designed to win her over. From logical arguments to emotional appeals, they worked hard to make their ideas impossible to resist.✍️✉️🕵️Will any of their persuasive requests come true? Watch this space… 7KH certainly made a strong case!✍️✉️🕵️#springbrook#academy#Upper... See MoreSee Less
📋In Living Skills, 8LA explored Home Management by creating a list of household chores and discussing whose responsibility it is to complete them. We also considered what might happen if chores weren’t done, with students identifying bacteria, germs, rats and flies as possible consequences. This helped us understand the importance of keeping a home clean, safe and healthy.👌🏻 To put our learning into practice, students chose an area of the classroom to clean and tidy. They explained how they cleaned it and described how it looked afterwards — noticing how much fresher, safer and more organised the space felt.😊 #springbrook#academy#Upper... See MoreSee Less
🍫 🥒 🍞8LA had a fun and hands-on morning exploring our maths topic on fractions. Using chocolate, cucumbers, and bread, we worked on finding fractions of given amounts and deepened our understanding of the whole.🤩 By cutting and sharing real food items, we could clearly see how fractions work in real life — from halves and quarters to eighths and beyond! It was a practical (and delicious!) way to build our confidence and understanding.😊 #springbrook#academy#Upper... See MoreSee Less
😊This week we’ve been getting creative by designing and creating our cold pieces ready for our new English topic – the ideas and effort have been fantastic!💪 We’ve also been focusing on how to protect our mental, physical, and social health, with some great discussions about positive wellbeing choices. To put this into action, we even made our own stress balls using slime and flour – a messy but very fun activity! 🙌 I’m also very proud of the amazing start that everyone has made on their AQA work. Pupils in 8ZW are working towards a range of awards, from hairdressing and football to the periodic table – such a fantastic variety of achievements!❤️ Great effort all round this week, 8ZW – keep it up!👍 #springbrook#academy#upper... ♻️This morning Miss Bolger and Mrs Makin made an absolute mess in the Class 3 classroom during English. 😬 Thankfully the boys had just learnt about how to use coloured bins to recycle correctly and recycled the rubbish cleaning up the mess perfectly.👏 #springbrook#academy#lower... See MoreSee Less
😊 This week in 7MK we made salt dough! We made different items including a pizza and donuts! 🍕 🍩 We can't wait till they are dried and we can paint them. 👌🏻 #springbrook#academy#upper... See MoreSee Less
♻️ Class 3 would like to introduce you to their new classmate - our recycling mascot. In art, the boys looked at other 3D recycled sculptures by Michelle Reader before using our recycled items to make the mascot.♻️#springbrook#academy#lower... See MoreSee Less
🥞🔥 Flipping fantastic day in 7MK Cooking! 🥞🔥Our amazing chefs whipped up some stack-tacular pancakes today — mixing, flipping (with only a few dramatic landings 😅…)So proud of the teamwork, effort, and delicious results.👏 MasterChef 2030, watch out! 👩🍳👨🍳✨#springbrook#academy#Upper...
