This year’s GCSE cohort achieved an impressive set of outcomes, with more than a third of all grades awarded at the top 9-7 level. In the key measures of English and Maths, 80% of students secured grades 4-9, while 64% achieved the higher 5-9 “strong pass” benchmark, both comfortably above national averages. An exceptional 10% of all grades awarded were the top grade 9. These results reflect the hard work, resilience and commitment shown by students throughout their time at The Howard, with the year group rising to every challenge and achieving success across a wide range of subjects. It has been another remarkable year at The Howard, as students receive their A-Level and BTEC results and firm-up plans for their next great adventure. In a cohort of 155 students, A Level grades were 13% A*, 35% A* to A, 66% A*-B and 87% A*-C. Impressively, every single one of our BTEC Extended Certificate results were Distinction*, Distinction or Merit. These outcomes are even better than last year’s outstanding results. Congratulations to all our amazing students!

Our students have enjoyed an exciting range of enrichment activities, giving them the opportunity to learn new skills and explore their creativity.From action theatre workshops, music sessions and theatre make-up, to biscuit making and decorating, alongside a variety of educational and adventurous trips, there has been something for everyone to enjoy.A huge thank you to all the staff, visitors and organisations who helped make this week such a success. It has been wonderful to see our students embracing new experiences with such enthusiasm and confidence.

Join us for HowardFest, the Howard’s annual music festival and fundraiser - an all afternoon and evening event which combines school concert with festival atmosphere.Taking place in the Lower School Playground (enter via the 6th Form gate), the afternoon and evening will showcase the very best of school music, from the Jazz Band, Orchestra, Chamber Choir and Pop Choir, through to soloists and student bands. We round things off with a crowd-pleasing set from the legendary Howard Teacher Band.There’ll also be student stalls selling handmade crafts, baked goods, henna tattoos and festival face painting, plus food and drink from the Friends: a BBQ serving burgers, hotdogs, pulled pork & veggie chilli, a licensed bar plus snack stall selling candyfloss and doughnuts, soft drinks and ice creams, using local produce wherever possible.All proceeds go towards new instruments and equipment, as well as funding other departments and wider school projects.Tickets: £5 students / £10 adults.Come for the afternoon, stay for dinner, and make a proper day of it.
