😊This week we’ve been getting creative by designing and creating our cold pieces ready for our new English topic – the ideas and effort have been fantastic!💪 We’ve also been focusing on how to protect our mental, physical, and social health, with some great discussions about positive wellbeing choices. To put this into action, we even made our own stress balls using slime and flour – a messy but very fun activity! 🙌 I’m also very proud of the amazing start that everyone has made on their AQA work. ♻️This morning Miss Bolger and Mrs Makin made an absolute mess in the Class 3 classroom during English. 😬 Thankfully the boys had just learnt about how to use coloured bins to recycle correctly and recycled the rubbish cleaning up the mess perfectly.👏 #springbrook#academy#lower... See MoreSee Less

We were very lucky to be able to attend a careers event at Samuel Laycock School yesterday, styled on a Dragon’s Den theme. There was a twist however, as it was the businesses pitching to the pupils about why they should choose to work in that industry! At the end of each pitch, the pupils had to vote about whether that was a job they would like to do in the future. We had travel companies, high value insurance companies (one of whom insured a rare Pokémon card for $12 million for Logan Paul!), film & documentary makers, catering, IT and game making, training companies plus many more.The questions asked by our children were fabulous and they were fully engaged the whole morning.Thank you for the invite Mr Cox and the hospitality shown by your pupils. 🦷In science 7MS were learning about human teeth and were tasked with making a model of the teeth in the lower jaw using salt dough. The children problem solved what tools to use to make the marking on the teeth. One of our students (James) extended the task and made a full jaw, including the tongue!👅 #springbrook#academy#Upper... 🥞8LA celebrated Pancake Day in style by making their very own pancakes! 🥞They carefully measured and weighed their ingredients, understanding how important accuracy is in baking to achieve the best results. Using a whisk, they aerated their mixtures to create a smooth, light batter.😋 Everyone worked brilliantly, showing great teamwork and independence throughout the lesson. This morning the KS1 children have been working extra hard during their interventions! 🧠 ❤️ Remeece has completed yet another module of his Zippy and friends workbook and was so proud of himself.👏 Miss Wright asked what he thinks about doing Zippy and he said…💬 “…it makes me happy I like doing new things.”😃 Keep up the hard work, Remeece!😊 ⭐️ Alfie and Regan have looked at the Colour Monster story, today we focused on Fear. 😰 Both boys were able to say what makes them feel fearful and what people can do to make them happy again. 😃 Both boys did amazing work!⭐️ Everyone went back to class happy with certificates for their super work this morning!
