Big Sister was born out of Women in Sport research and originally ran as a pilot scheme in partnership with Places Leisure, Places Foundation and Hey Girls.

Big Sister was created and shaped by the “Big Sisters” – by girls for girls, providing a platform for girls to use their voices and share their experiences to support other girls. It was designed to support teenage girls to engage and find enjoyment in sport and activity whilst creating awareness around the barriers they face during puberty and the impact that also has in their wider lives.

In creating an eco-system of understanding and support through peers, coaches, and teachers, this collective effort is there to provide them with guidance and advice whilst keeping them at the heart of decisions.

Get ready to lace your Blue Suede Shoes, as the King will soon be crooning… Viva Hurst Green!

This latest fundraising event on Saturday 9th November, supported by Titsey Rotary Club, will have attendees getting All Shook Up by the one and only Andy T King.
Having been an Elvis fan since the Love Me Tender age of just five years old, Andy has grown to become an acclaimed impersonator with over a decade of stage experience. He’s appeared in venues all across the country, as well as overseas, collecting a string of awards along the way.

Its assured that you Can’t Help Falling In Love with Andy’s show, as it features an American Trilogy of songs, storytelling, and audience interactions! So, let’s have A Little Less Conversation and a little more action, please. Don’t Be Cruel and show some Burning Love for a good cause. Profits will be donated to Hurst Green Community Centre to carry out essential maintenance of the much-loved but aging building.

It’s Now or Never to purchase tickets via reply to this email (tell your friends to email events@hgcc-surrey.org.uk too). They’re priced at just £20 per person, and each comes with a free Hound Dog, or hot dog.

Suspicious Minds may wonder about drinks – you’re free to bring your own and don’t forget to dress up in Rock ‘n’ Roll-themed attire for the chance to win a prize!

Doors are at 7:30pm, show starts at 8pm sharp. Event ends around 10:30pm.

Hurst Green Community Centre is located at 4 Oak Close, Hurst Green, Surrey, RH8 0BA

We want to make sure that we are providing your child with the best education and support we can. Healthy school food has obvious health benefits and can help students establish healthy habits for life. Healthy school food can also help to improve students’ readiness to learn.

Families who receive certain benefits may be eligible for free school meals. Your child is eligible for free school meals if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits:

• Universal Credit with an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, before benefits are taken into account
• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• The guarantee element of Pension Credit
• Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for the four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
• Child Tax Credit (with no Working Tax Credit) with an annual income of no more than £16,190

Registering for free meals could also raise an extra £985 for your child’s secondary school, to fund valuable support like extra tuition, additional teaching staff or after school activities.

This additional money is available from central government for every child whose parent is receiving one of the benefits listed above.

If you are unsure whether you are eligible, we can use your National Insurance number to check on your behalf.

You can also visit this page of our website which has more information:
