A huge congratulations to our Year 10 student who came 2nd in the Hounslow Schools Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge yesterday. What an inspiring way to start Spring 2 term. You did us so proud. Here is a more about the event and Luna's reaction. Luna, in Yr 10 a student at The Green School for Girls, recently participated in the Hounslow Regional Final of Jack Petchey's Speak Out Challenge, the largest public speaking programme in England. The event took place on February 25, 2025, and featured 14 talented young speakers from the region.Luna delivered a compelling speech titled "We Are Lucky to Be Alive," which urged the audience to acknowledge and remember the Bosnian genocide. The speech emphasized the importance of giving a voice to victims and survivors to spread awareness and prevent future atrocities. Luna's powerful message resonated with the judges, earning a well-deserved Runner Up position in the competition.Reflecting on the experience, Luna expressed gratitude, saying, "I'd like to thank my family for their support, and everything I said was based on their experiences. I think we need to talk about these challenging topics more often as people are afraid to mention them."Jack Petchey Foundation... See MoreSee Less
