A Wonderful Start to Our New Class AB6 🌟

What a fantastic start we have had in our new class! It has been lovely to see everyone settling into their new routines and becoming familiar with their new environment. Transitioning can be very difficult for our students, but they have shown such resilience and enthusiasm. They have been exploring their surroundings, getting to know new adults and peers, and building positive relationships with the people around them. It has been wonderful to see the students becoming more comfortable and confident in their new school and class. Throughout our lessons, we have been encouraging students to participate in their own individual ways. Whether this has been through communication, sensory exploration, movement, practical activities or joining in with a group task. Our students have also been developing their ability to take turns and practice their listening and waiting skills. HB-LST have settled into school brilliantly! 🌟

What a fantastic start we have had! Over the past two days, we have been focusing on building strong friendships and positive relationships within our classroom. We have been getting to know one another, sharing our likes and dislikes, and discovering all the wonderful things that make each of us unique. 🥰We have also been establishing our classroom routines and learning what helps us to have a happy, successful day at school. 📚✨A big focus has been on our school rules and the 3 Bs:🐝 Be Ready🐝 Be Safe🐝 Be RespectfulWe have been talking about what each of these looks and sounds like in our classroom and how we can put them into practice every day.We are so proud of how brilliantly everyone has settled in and we are looking forward to all the learning, friendships and fun that the year ahead will bring! 🌈👏 ... What a fantastic start to the new school year for AB3CBY! We are so proud of how well everyone has settled into their new school environment over the first two days.

So far, we have enjoyed lessons including Maths, Communication, Living Skills, My World, and Ready to Learn. The class has embraced lots of new experiences and lessons with enthusiasm, showing great confidence when taking turns and demonstrating excellent waiting and listening skills.We have also been working hard on building positive relationships with our peers and staff. It has been wonderful to see everyone showing off their communication skills. Mrs Bingley and the team have been incredibly impressed with how well pupils are able to request and ask for the things they want and need.We are already so proud of all that has been achieved in just two days and are excited to see what the coming weeks will bring. The first step to help our students mange their emotions is being able to recognise them.

9LMN have been learning about zones of regulation and how to recognise our feelings. When pupils can recognise feelings they can then learn how to manage those feelings through breathing exercises, meditation, talking, and exercise as well as many other strategies. (for this school year)Miss Chelsea, Mrs Lorna, Mrs Chloe, and Mrs Sophie are so-so-so proud of how far our boys have come! 💙We gained 3 amazing year 7s this year and are also losing 2 fabulous year 11s who are graduating to the Learning Centre!😊 September brought new faces.October founded spooky places!November there were fireworks and more...December brought winter fun, presents galore!January rolls in, a new year to be...February full of friendships for all to see.March hop-hop-hops us right into spring!April was about vehicles, ooh what is that thing?! May was a delight, filled FILLED with messy play...June had the sun come out shouting hip-hip-hooray!July came round so fast, which brings us to today!🤩 Big changes are due, the next iteration of IB5 will be in for something new!🆕 Also a special shout out to our very own Miss Chelsea for successfully completing her 1st year of teaching, you've smashed it and your students and team are so proud of you and of everything you've accomplished so far!👏 We look forward to seeing you to continue to grow and thrive along with and for our great students.❤️ And finally…As we come to the end of another incredible school year, it is hard to put into words just how proud I am of every single member of our class. Looking back at where they started and seeing how far they have come has been nothing short of amazing. Every child has achieved success across all areas of learning, reaching their own individual milestones and showing us every day that, with patience, encouragement, and determination, anything is possible.💪 This year has been about so much more than academic progress. Watching each child grow in confidence and independence has been the greatest achievement of all. They have become more independent with feeding themselves, learned to ask for help when they need it, developed their signing and communication skills, built friendships, embraced new experiences, and shown resilience in the face of challenges. Most importantly, they have become more and more themselves—allowing their wonderful personalities, strengths, and unique qualities to shine through each and every day.✨ Every smile, every new skill, every breakthrough, and every moment of joy has made this year so special. It has been an absolute privilege to watch them grow, celebrate their achievements, and be part of their journey.
