This week we have a spotlight focus on two students at the Learning Centre.💡 First up is Harvey. Harvey has been with us since September and tells us that he likes coming to the Learning Centre. 💬During his Annual Review, Harvey mentioned that he wanted more time in cooking. Harvey visited Hayley in the kitchen to talk to her about any opportunities to get some work experience in the kitchen. 👨‍🍳 Hayley offered Harvey a job on the spot and from next week he will be working alongside the catering staff to help prepare food for the students. 👌 Harvey was so proud of himself!😊 I think we can all agree that he looks really smart in his uniform. 🧢Good luck, Harvey, and well done! 👏 #newbridge #learningcentre #Update ... The Disney Fundraising Ball has now been moved to Friday 17th October 2025.🗓️This will be our first Ball, an event we hope to run annually each autumn term.😊 The attendees for this Ball are ANY adult who wants to enjoy the evening and to help raise funds for our annual Disney trips. ❤️ As the MAT has grown over the year, the 2026 trips will be for six schools.6️⃣These schools include: Heywood AcademyThomas Ashton SchoolSamuel Laycock SchoolNew Bridge SchoolSpring Brook AcademyHollinwood Academy(for all Year 8 students)Fundraising helps to sustain the trips. Miss Begum’s class has been exploring the topic of ‘People Who Help Us in the Community’ as part of their Living Skills lessons. To bring this learning to life, she got the children to have the exciting opportunity to meet Marvin Greaves – a professional boxing coach, personal trainer, boxer, and rapper. 👌 Marvin shared his inspiring journey, speaking openly about his struggles and the hard work that led him to where he is today.
